Poverty is all around the slums in Pattaya. Many families barely
scrape by with even the most basic of foods and the problem is ever increasing. Kate's Project never offers advice on how people could improve their lives, but we listen carefully to the suggestions
made by the people in the slums themselves. 
If they feel they can benefit from a little help to start a small business we will finance this dream. Usually this financial outlay
is small by western standard but beyond the reach of most of the people living in the slums.
After an intitial meeting to discuss the ideas and practicalities it is only a short time before the small business takes shape. The businesses assisted so far have included drinks/food stalls and silk/ cloth weaving.
