KATES PROJECT TRUST PATTAYA THAILAND
PENPAL LETTER SENT TO A FRIEND IN IRELAND

Education

Sending the children to local schools is an absolute priority for
Kate’s Project.
At present 150 children are assisted with school fees, lunches and uniforms.

Many of the families living in the slums just simply cannot afford the school fees and it is the goal of the project to offer even more places in 2010.

Currently the children assisted by the programme attend several schools across the city as their ages range from 5- 17, from kindergarten to Vocational School. Their enthusiasm for learning and school is inspirational and will surely yield positive results in the not too distant future.

A recent development has seen some of the children sending letters to children in Ireland. Valuable insights into the different cultures and ways will surely benefit these young children and give them awareness of the world we live in. An example of one of the letters is shown on the right hand side of this page and no doubt this will spark further letters between the two boys.

As well as paying for the annual school fees for the 150 children, Kate's Project also purchases all necessary school uniforms, books and materials as well as providing a nutritious meal each day.
