Who are we?
Kate's Project Trust is a small organization consisting of married couple Andrew McCarroll and Roisin Hall along with Thai co-ordinator, "Khun Noi" (Kongjit Puendonkeng). Between the three of them they have created a charity that is assisting the poorest families in the many slums around Pattaya.
Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland the Trust raises funds to send directly to where it is most needed. There are no administration costs so all monies go directly to Khun Noi, the co-ordinator who has developed a close relationship with all the families in the slums.
Khun Noi, now has an office in Pattaya, (the CENTRE OF HOPE) which opened officially in December 2008 and which is now the hub for all activities relating to the project. The centre will see classes for hairdressing, crafts, adult literacy and offer basic health care for anyone who needs it.
Kate's Project continues to grow and depends totally on funds given by donors and sponsors.
Why Kate's Project?
Kate's Project Trust was named after a wonderful lady called Kathleen Hall ("Kate" as her late husband use to call her)
Roisin Hall, one of the directors of Kate's Project thought that it would be most appropriate that the charity be named in memory of her mother.
Kathleen had a warm, caring, empathetic nature and would talk and take time for anyone she would meet. She was particularly drawn to those who in our society are very often neglected or "looked-over"; the elderly, infirm, mentally and physically handicapped.
It is only right then that a project that is holding out a reaching and caring hand to the needy should be named after Kathleen.
